My electric bill has more than doubled from this time last year. Delmarva has been under scrutiny lately for their sudden increase in prices, as this only happened maybe in the past 2 to 3 months that I've noticed. My bill last year at this time was about $150 and my bill right now was $374. I was using the air conditioner the same amount and haven't added or done anything special as of late. My projected rate for next month is $317. They get away with it because there isn't another company that covers my area.
I don't think I'll be able to afford my rent next month. My rent is about $1740. When it comes time to renew, I don't think I'll be able to afford to live here next year and that really fucking sucks. They still think my mother is on the lease because I sign her name to my documents as if she is (she gave me permission when she was alive to do so). She died about 6 months after I moved in here when she was supposed to be released from the hospital to home for me to take care of her, but that didn't happen that way, but was still on the lease. Long fucking story that I'll tell one day. I still put her on that renewal because I'm so afraid that they're going to evict me if I tell them I'm here by myself without her extra income...even though I've been doing it for the past 2 years.
I make about $2400 to $2600 a month. So, if you're counting, that leaves me very little wiggle room for any other bills. This includes the internet so that I can work, my cell phone, etc.
I can't mentally take on another/2nd job. I can hardly do one, but the only reason I manage is because it's remote and with my agoraphobia, it's the only thing that is possible. I have things to sell online that I just can't currently (most are electronics) because it's too hot to ship things and I'm too afraid to sell things on Facebook Marketplace.
So I'm stuck. I'm stuck with my mental health (though feeling much better than I was previously now that I'm on the right meds). I'm stuck with my surroundings because so much needs to be done (things became very cluttered and messy while I was in a deep depression). I don't know what to do. I also have no drive because I'm overwhelmed.
And, I think the worst part of this, I feel so incredibly alone. It's just my dog and I, who I absolutely adore, don't get me wrong, but she isn't much help in organizing or encouraging me to clean up or helping me clean.
I don't know what to do.
